Methodology
The rows are the sourced price increases already listed on /price-hikes. Price cuts on that page are not included. No price in this report was added for the report. Each source link is the link already stored on that increase.
The headline counts a distinct plan increase whose effective date falls in the 12 months ending on the data-as-of date, including both ends. For this report that is October 31, 2025 through October 30, 2026. The start is the day after the same calendar date one year earlier. One service, one plan, and one effective date count once, so a monthly price and a yearly price on that date count once. The median uses that same set, and uses the monthly percent when both cadences are present.
The first table is that window. The second table is every earlier increase still on the price-hikes list. No row is dropped. The CSV lists every cadence and marks in_window true or false. The CPI-U comparison is Sep 2025 to Sep 2026. That window is close to the increase window but not the same.
The inflation comparison is CPI-U, all items, U.S. city average, not seasonally adjusted (CUUR0000SA0), from Sep 2025 to Sep 2026. The 12-month percent is computed from the stored index values 324.800 and 336.940, retrieved October 31, 2026. The series page is https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/CUUR0000SA0.
